The North American Division President's Report at the 2025 General Conference Session Highlights Discipleship, Media, Mentorship, and Service

On Saturday evening, July 5, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America (NAD) presented the first division report at the 2025 General Conference Session. NAD president G. Alexander Bryant, executive secretary Kyoshin Ahn, and treasurer Judy R. Glass introduced the video, which focused on the division’s ministry activities and accomplishments during the past three years.

Erton C. Köhler Elected as General Conference President

Erton C. Köhler was elected to the office of the president of the General Conference (GC) on July 4, 2025, during the 62nd GC Session in St. Louis, Missouri. Köhler’s election marks the beginning of his first term as the spiritual and administrative leader of a worldwide movement that spans more than 200 countries and includes more than 23 million members.

Adventist Women Leaders Invited to Connect Through Newsletter and at Luncheon

On Sept. 13, 2018, the North American Division (NAD) Administrative Committee voted to adopt and endorse the Adventist Women Leaders (AWL) initiative. What started with a lunch for 15 women gathered in a conference room at the NAD Year-End Meeting in October 2017 has grown to more than 50 subscribers to an email newsletter published twice each month.

Washington Johnson, II Rises to the Rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve During Historic Promotion Ceremony

Washington Johnson, II, associate director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries, was officially promoted from “commander” to “captain” in the U.S. Navy Reserve on October 8, at the headquarters of the North American Division in Columbia, Maryland. Johnson is the sixth Adventist chaplain to reach the rank of captain in the history of the denomination and the U.S. Navy.

Student-Produced Film Helps Promote “Creation Sabbath”

The Stop, a clever and compelling three-minute film about the Sabbath and creation was made available October 3 by the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) in preparation of “Creation Sabbath,” on October 27. The annual celebration of the Seventh-day Adventist Church provides a designated time for church and community members to reflect on God’s creation.
