As thousands gathered for this global event of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a spirit of inclusivity was clearly present through the work of American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters from the North American Division (NAD) and the dedicated advocates who supported them behind the scenes.

In the hush of early morning, long before most delegates file into the cavernous America’s Center for the General Conference Session, Ken Logan is already seated at the organ. He begins most days at 7:15 a.m., offering a prelude that acts as a bridge to worship. It is a quiet ritual that soon swells into something far larger, a soundtrack for the more than 2,000 delegates expected each day.

AdventSource, the official ministry supply center for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, became an North American Division institution on Nov. 9, 2018, following a vote by the NAD Corporation Board.

After Discussion, Prayer, the 2018 NAD Year-End Meeting Writing Committee Presents NAD Response to Recent GC Voted Document

On Nov. 4, 2018, the morning business session of the North American Division Year-End Meeting was devoted to a discussion on the voted General Conference document titled “Regard for and Practice of General Conference Session and General Conference Executive Committee Actions.” The GC Executive Committee, at its Annual Council meeting this past October, approved the creation of a new compliance process to assist with the need to implement church policies and voted actions.The process is outlined in the voted GC document to which the NAD was responding.

At Prayer Service, Michigan Faith Leaders and Officials Urge Unity After Pittsburgh Massacre

Congregants from various faiths gathered in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on Monday night, Nov. 8, 2018, to pray for unity in the wake of the Pittsburgh massacre which left 11 Jewish worshippers dead. Before a standing-room only crowd of 150, faith leaders resolved to support Jews and other victims of religious hatred in the hopes of sending a clear message that love will triumph over hate.
