An Adventist Church in New Jersey Celebrates Juneteenth with the Community

The Township of Willingboro, New Jersey, invited the Willingboro Seventh-day Adventist Church to participate in the town’s second annual Juneteenth Festival on June 18, 2022. Marilyn Bell, director of communication/event coordinator for the festival, was pleased with the church’s participation in 2021, telling them that the church received rave reviews.

Adventist Community Services Distributes Water in Jackson, Mississippi

​​​​​​​On Sabbath, September 3, 2022, Adventist Community Services (ACS) hosted a water distribution at a local Adventist school in Jackson, Mississippi, a city of about 150,000 residents. A total of 15,000 bottles of water were handed out.

Holbrook Indian School Mourns Loss of Student in Tragic Bus Accident

On August 28, 2022, 17-year-old student Kiarra Alma Gordon was killed and six others injured during an accident involving a bus from the Holbrook Indian School (HIS) in Arizona. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the bus slowed down in traffic near a rollover crash when it was struck from behind by a semi-truck.

The North American Division has a wonderful strategic focus called Together in Mission. I love this focus and the emphasis on multiply, media, and mentorship as our way of going about our mission. But what I especially love about this focus is the word “together.” For too long our church and its various departments have worked in silos. It’s time for us to come together and unify — and work together in mission.

For three days, June 19-21, 2022, at the Ministry Tech Lab, thousands of church leaders at the CALLED Pastors’ Family Convention were able to talk with experts on everything tech-ministry related, including special time slots to talk about microphones, cameras, lights, and more for worship services, podcasts, Bible studies, and evangelistic outreach.

But nobody believed it. “I myself didn’t believe it,” Gulko said. “I didn’t think it could happen.” The Gulko family, along with millions of other Ukrainians, suddenly found themselves at the center of a crisis that had been escalating for years.
