The Association of Adventist Women has named Elizabeth Talbot, Ph.D., the 2024 Woman of the Year for spiritual leadership and media ministry. Talbot was presented this honorary award at the Association of Adventist Women banquet on October 12, 2024. Talbot was recognized for her commitment to sharing Jesus through her preaching, writing, and visual ministry.

When We Pray

She was strong, committed, and determined to live for and be like Jesus. She read and studied her Bible daily. She cared for others—fed, clothed, nursed, housed, visited, taught about Jesus, and sang/prayed for and with others. Her purpose in life and her greatest joy, she often said, was to tell everyone about Jesus Christ. She was my "G" — and we called her a prayer warrior.

Southwestern Adventist University is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Reyes, CFRE, as its new vice president for advancement. Reyes will oversee the SWAU Office of University Advancement, which includes alumni relations, development and marketing and public relations. Dr. Steven Smith, vice president and chief scientific officer of AdventHealth, and principal investigator of the Janssen Pharmaceuticals COVID-19 vaccine clinic trial, recently shared his expertise and insight on vaccine development with Mylon Medley, assistant director of NAD Communication. Smith says, “You couldn't design a vaccine that looked any better than these first two vaccines [Pfizer and Moderna] that are out of the gate.”
