The Association of Adventist Women has named Elizabeth Talbot, Ph.D., the 2024 Woman of the Year for spiritual leadership and media ministry. Talbot was presented this honorary award at the Association of Adventist Women banquet on October 12, 2024. Talbot was recognized for her commitment to sharing Jesus through her preaching, writing, and visual ministry.
“I am grateful to the Association of Adventist Women for this award. First of all, I thank Jesus for achieving our salvation and for choosing women as the first witnesses of His resurrection. I also thank the North American Division for their commitment to encouraging women in leadership. And I want to recognize that without the awesome Jesus 101 team that works alongside me, we wouldn’t be able to create this quality of Christ-centered biblical resources. Praise God for His guidance in leading this ministry. It is all about Jesus,” Talbot stated upon receiving the award.
Talbot is the speaker/director and founder of the Jesus 101 Biblical Institute (Jesus101.tv) – an official media ministry of the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She speaks regularly at public events worldwide and focuses on developing resources that can be used for in-depth, Christ-centered biblical studies. Talbot hosts Jesus 101’s television and radio programs in both English and Spanish and is the author of 16 books.
Other 2024 Woman of the Year Award recipients included Silvia Scholtus, Ph.D., for church leadership and scholarship; Vi Zapara, Ph.D., for philanthropic leadership; and Rene Drumm, Ph.D., for scholarship and church leadership. The Association of Adventist Women also awarded a Champion of Justice Award to Victor Marley, M.A., president of the Norwegian Union.
The Association of Adventist Women works to advocate for the participation of women in all leadership roles in Seventh-day Adventist organizations and communities around the world. Since 1984, the organization has recognized individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their church and community.
