Elizabeth Talbot Named Woman of the Year by Association of Adventist Women

The Association of Adventist Women has named Elizabeth Talbot, Ph.D., the 2024 Woman of the Year for spiritual leadership and media ministry. Talbot was presented this honorary award at the Association of Adventist Women banquet on October 12, 2024. Talbot was recognized for her commitment to sharing Jesus through her preaching, writing, and visual ministry.

Report on 2024 Consolidated Enrollment

The Association of Adventist Colleges and Universities (AACU), comprised of the presidents and other top leaders from 13 Adventist colleges and universities in North America, has determined that the latest consolidated fall enrollment numbers for all 13 institutions totals 20,828 students. This increase of 256 students from the previous year marks the second consecutive year of total growth.

Unprecedented Adventist Military Veterans Program Recognizes Exemplary Service, Remembers the Fallen

The North American Division (NAD) Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) hosted its first ever ceremony in honor of Veterans Day entitled, “You Are Not Forgotten: A Salute to Veterans” on Saturday, November 10. More than 200 people attended the Sabbath afternoon program at the division’s headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. Those in attendance included servicemen and women from the five U.S. military services – Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

Community Pulls Together After Deadliest Fire in California's History Burns Through Towns 

The Camp Fire, now considered the deadliest fire in California’s history, has claimed the lives of close to 60 in the Concow and Paradise vicinities. According to news reports, more than 52,000 were evacuated from the area; about 8,800 homes have been destroyed by the fire that started on Nov. 8. Nearly 1,300 Adventist church members have been affected; and several Adventist properties have been destroyed or sustained serious damage.
