The Association of Adventist Colleges and Universities (AACU), comprised of the presidents and other top leaders from 13 Adventist colleges and universities in North America, has determined that the latest consolidated fall enrollment numbers for all 13 institutions totals 20,828 students. This increase of 256 students from the previous year marks the second consecutive year of total growth.
Altogether, the combined program offerings of AACU institutions represent nearly 400 unique degrees and certificates at campuses that provide a safe harbor for students seeking a faith-based university education. Total undergraduate enrollment also increased for the second consecutive year, with 180 students from the previous year, for a total of 14,233. AACU began tracking undergraduate transfer numbers over the last four school years, including the fall of 2020. That population has grown from 1,344 in 2020 to 1,657 this year—a 23 percent increase.
“We are thrilled to see this overall momentum and witness more students recognizing the transformative power of an Adventist education,” said Dr. Ken Shaw, president of AACU and Southern Adventist University. “This second year of enrollment growth is a testament to the dedication of our institutions in meeting the spiritual, academic, and personal needs of students.” Dr. Andrea Luxton, executive director of AACU, shared, “We believe that Adventist higher education in North America offers unrivaled value and a unique blend of faith and learning that prepares students to make a meaningful impact in today’s world.”
As we share this annual update, we appeal to students, families, and church members to join us in supporting Adventist higher education through prayers and encouraging our young people to attend our colleges and universities.
