Southwestern Adventist University President Ken Shaw Announces Transition

Southwestern Adventist University president Ken Shaw has announced that he has accepted an offer to serve as the 27th president of Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. His transition will take place at the end of this academic year.

Ken Shaw to Become 27th President of Southern Adventist University

The Southern Adventist University Board of Trustees voted unanimously on February 28 for Ken Shaw, EdD, to become the 27th president of the university. He will assume office on June 1. For the past seven years, Shaw has served as president of Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.

On the heels of the success of the first-ever virtual Sonscreen Film festival in 2020, organizers are preparing for the 2021 event to again be held virtually. But it won’t look much like the 2020 event, said Julio Muñoz, director of Sonscreen, and an associate director of communication for the North American Division (NAD). He shared that Sonscreen, partnering with Tanya Musgrave, has come up with a way to make this year’s event a more interactive experience through online platform Gather.

To strengthen behavioral health services in Solano County, Adventist Health Vallejo, which has served as the county’s behavioral treatment center of choice for nearly 25 years, announced, on Feb, 9, 2021, that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell the hospital and its behavioral health services to Acadia Healthcare, a leading provider of behavioral healthcare in the U.S.

On January 26, 2021, an exciting and historical vote was taken by the 2024 International Camporee Executive Advisory Committee that will impact Pathfinders around the world. This vote approved two things: a change of location for the 2024 Believe the Promise Camporee from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Gillette, Wyoming; and new dates of August 5-11, 2024.
