Southern California Conference Responds to the January 2025 Wildfires

A series of fires erupted in southern California on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, amid extremely dry and windy weather conditions. As of January 9 the death toll is seven; thousands of homes have been destroyed. The largest blaze, the Pacific Palisades Fire, is now considered the most destructive in Los Angeles City history. This release contains information about what the Southern California Conference is doing to respond immediately to the crisis caused by the fires.

Walla Walla University Theology Students Intern Across North Pacific Union Conference

The North Pacific Union summer ministerial internship is a wonderful opportunity for Walla Walla University (WWU) theology and religious studies majors interested in pastoral ministry. Through this 10-week program, students earn full-time practical experience under the mentorship of skilled North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) pastors, strengthening their understanding of what pastoral careers look like.

On Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, the North American headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will give away 10,000 lbs. of fresh fruit and vegetables. “During this Thanksgiving season, we want to help our neighbors and express our gratitude for being a part of the local Howard County community,” says Orlan Johnson, Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Ministries for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America.

Loma Linda University Church Dedicates Literature Ministry Distribution and Training Center

One of the most innovative lay evangelism programs in Adventist history moved into its permanent home when Loma Linda University Church formally dedicated the Literature Ministry Distribution and Training Center on the campus of Loma Linda Elementary School on Sabbath, October 15, 2022. The center, whose steel walls and barred windows resemble an armored fortress, represents the culmination of years of vision, faith, prayer, and hard work on the part of a dedicated lay group eager to share the gospel in the Inland Empire of Southern California.

From August 11-18, 2022, The Singers, along with British composer Philip W. Stopford, were invited to perform at Westminster Abbey, Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth Cathedral.
