Southern California Conference Responds to the January 2025 Wildfires
A series of fires erupted in southern California on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, amid extremely dry and windy weather conditions. As of January 9 the death toll is seven; thousands of homes have been destroyed. The largest blaze, the Pacific Palisades Fire, is now considered the most destructive in Los Angeles City history. This release contains information about what the Southern California Conference is doing to respond immediately to the crisis caused by the fires.
Walla Walla University Theology Students Intern Across North Pacific Union Conference

PUC Offers St. Helena High Students Groundbreaking Conservation Technology Course
Pacific Union College has launched a groundbreaking collaboration with St. Helena High School, giving students the opportunity to learn how technology is applied to the environmental challenges they face in their own local communities and beyond – including severe drought and wildfires. The 10-week class will meet in person on PUC’s campus and provides the students with the chance to earn college credit.
Andrews University Hosts First Partnership Grant and Shark Tank Competition
BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich.—In a new and innovative initiative to foster academic enrichment opportunities, Andrews University hosted its first Andrews Partnership Grant and Shark Tank Competition on Sept. 30. The program, modeled after the successful television series, featured four teams of faculty and staff entrepreneurs who presented to a live audience and panel of judges. Each team shared a proposal, which the audience members and judges voted on. A total of $200,000 was distributed between the three winning teams, after they were announced on October 18.
