Jack J. Blanco, former dean of the Southern Adventist University School of Religion and professor emeritus, and author of The Clear Word Bible paraphrase, passed peacefully to his rest on Sabbath, January 11, 2025. He was 95.

On Wednesday evening, January 8, 2025, the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a special prayer meeting to launch the world church’s 10 Days of Prayer with emphasis on "Seeking God's Spirit" for Pentecost 2025. “We’re delighted to have you here with us tonight. We’re excited about what God is going to do and about His promises, and tonight, we’re going to claim those promises.” NAD president G. Alexander Bryant said in his greetings.

Baltimore Is Dished a Serving of Compassion Through Homemade Soup

“Just as soon as I took the lid off the pot, people were standing waiting to be served,” said Gael Murray, administrative assistant for North American Division Youth Ministries, who distributed soup during Global Youth Day on Saturday, March 17. Global Youth Day is an annual day of outreach designed for youth and young adults to “Be the Sermon” by performing acts of compassion in their communities.

There are many reasons why young adults become student missionaries (SMs), often pausing their college work, and their regular lives, to serve for a year or two in a place far from home. And as these five SMs’ year-long assignments drew to a close, they shared their stories — what they’ve learned about themselves, their relationship with Jesus, and what it means to serve others.
