During their senior year, Luke Graham and Avianna Alvarez, Walla Walla University engineering alumni, were two of 16 student finalists chosen for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Pressure Vessel Piping Conference student paper competition.

Jack J. Blanco, former dean of the Southern Adventist University School of Religion and professor emeritus, and author of The Clear Word Bible paraphrase, passed peacefully to his rest on Sabbath, January 11, 2025. He was 95.
Adventist Partnerships Prioritize Relief for Southern California Residents
Adventist Health Glendale and Adventist Health Global Mission are partnering with the Southern California Conference and the Pasadena Seventh-day Adventist Church to begin offering help (and hope) for residents of Altadena and Pasadena affected by the ongoing fires. Adventist Education Strengthened Through Fundraising
How can our K-12 schools, and especially academies, maintain their quality and continue to grow as well? One vital aspect is finances—and fundraising. The Philanthropic Service for Institutions (PSI), a North American Division department, addressed these challenges and more during a February 2018 meeting with school representatives from across the division. “Finances are crucial,” said Lilya Wagner, Ph.D., PSI director. “No longer are subsidies and tuition income sufficient."

Student, Flight Instructor Safe After Airplane Accident
Shortly before noon (PST) on Feb. 28, 2018, John McVay, president of Walla Walla University, sent an email to inform students, staff and faculty, and friends and family of the university that an aviation student and WWU flight instructor were safe after the plane they were in crash landed.
