The featured speaker for Washington Adventist University’s Alumni Weekend, April 6-9, 2017, is alumnus and General Conference (GC) president Ted N.C. Wilson. He will be sharing his thoughts and experiences on April 8 at the 11:15 a.m. worship service at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church. During the weekend Wilson will be inducted into the WAU Department of Business & Communication Wall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Morrison Hall.
Wilson graduated from Washington Adventist University (WAU) in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree double major in religion and business administration. He began his church career as a pastor in 1974 in the Greater New York Conference and is being honored by WAU for his consistent commitment to the Christian leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and for promoting the worldwide reach of the gospel.
He was elected president of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church (GC) in July 2010, during the GC Session in Atlanta. As an ordained pastor, Wilson has served in ministries in New York; Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa; and Moscow, Russia. He has been married to physical therapist Nancy Louise Vollmer Wilson since 1975.

This weekend’s alumni and parents events also include a free concert on Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church that will feature WAU’s Columbia Collegiate Chorale and New England Youth Ensemble. The concert will also be streamed live at sligochurch.org/media.
On Sunday, April 9, from noon to 5 p.m., the annual WAU Family Fun Festival for the community will be held on the campus commons. The event is free of charge.
