Adventist Risk Management Announces Strategic Executive Realignment

On January 30, 2025, Adventist Risk Management, Inc. (ARM) announced a company-wide realignment of executive roles to better meet the needs of clients and subsidiary offices.

According to ARM president and CEO, James Winegardner, “This realignment shifts existing departments between executive leadership without reductions in force. ARM is making the changes to increase efficiency and balance workloads among the officers.”

This realignment now places insurance services, which includes underwriting, placement, and business analytics departments under David Fournier, who formerly oversaw client care which included risk control, customer service, account executives, and communications and resources. Kathleen Wilson adds the claims department to her current portfolio over the healthcare and benefits area, and Andrea Ashman, vice president for human resources, will take responsibility for the communications department. Andrew Moll will focus on the company’s entire finance operations and Tony Vargas continues oversight of information technology services. James Winegardner will serve the client dare departments and risk control along with the legal department.

ARM is implementing these changes with immediate effect.

Three Documentary Series About “Purpose,” Additional Media Projects, Unveiled at GAiN Europe

The Adventist Church communication community, Global Adventist Internet Network (GAiN) Europe, in coordination with Hope Media Europe, has unveiled its latest film and media productions, and written content, under the theme My Greatest Purpose. This new global network project focuses on the theme of life purposes, bringing together the collaboration, efforts, and teamwork of numerous media centers and entities of the Adventist Church worldwide. During the 2024 GAiN Europe conference, held on November 15-19 in Budva, Montenegro, Hope Media Europe presented the results of more than two years of work: three documentary series, a narrative film, an upcoming book on “Purpose,” and new free-to-view streaming website J+.

Ken Norton Named Voice of Prophecy Bible School Director

Ken Norton, president of the Montana Conference, has accepted the Voice of Prophecy’s invitation to serve as the Discover Bible School director. He will begin his service at the ministry on March 2, 2025.

Only U.S. Opportunity to See Artifact With Oldest Alphabetic Sentence at Southern Adventist University

In partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority and The Israel Museum, Southern Adventist University is the only scheduled location in the United States where visitors can see the first complete alphabetic sentence in human history ever found. This oldest deciphered sentence is inscribed on an ivory lice comb, which was excavated by Southern archaeologists and dates to 1700 B.C. The rare artifact is on display at the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum on Southern’s campus on loan from the Israel Antiquities Authority. The current exhibit, “The Ivory Comb: Lice and Literacy at Lachish,” is open to the public through May 2, 2025.

Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Among Patmos Chapel’s Community Heroes

When Patmos Chapel Church in Apopka celebrated Community Guest Day on October 5, 2025, the congregation was in for a surprise. Along with the six special guests being awarded for their service to the community, a video crew from the ABC television network showed up. The film crew was taping a news report on Florida’s voting rights movement, spearheaded by one of Patmos’s honorees, Desmond Meade, president of the Florida Restoration Rights Coalition (FRRC).
