Ivan L. Williams
Ivan L. Williams, Sr. serves as Vice President of Strategy and Leadership for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. He also serves as the ministerial director serving and supporting more than one hundred ministerial leaders and associates, and over four thousand pastors in Bermuda, Canada, the United States, and the Guam-Micronesia Mission. Prior to this, he served as the Ministerial director for the Northern California Conference.
Williams sensed a call to ministry at thirteen years of age while serving in an evangelistic meeting. In preparation for full-time ministry, he subsequently pursued educational training at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he graduated with degrees in Communications and Theology, and from Andrews University Theological Seminary, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with a Master of Divinity degree. Williams also completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Claremont School of Theology, in Claremont, California. His project-dissertation dealt with pastor burnout and renewal in Seventh-day Adventist ministry.
In addition to pastoral ministry, he had the privilege to serve eight years as a chaplain for the California State Assembly while pastoring in Sacramento, CA, and as a Chaplain-Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. Williams enjoys family time, media, and broadcasting, reading, preaching, barbering, athletics, sharing hope, and teaching people to live a balanced life in Jesus. He has been able to be all he can be with the unconditional love and support of His Heavenly Father, faithful wife Kathleen, and their two children, Imani, and Ivan, II.
