The North American Division President's Report at the 2025 General Conference Session Highlights Discipleship, Media, Mentorship, and Service

On Saturday evening, July 5, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America (NAD) presented the first division report at the 2025 General Conference Session. NAD president G. Alexander Bryant, executive secretary Kyoshin Ahn, and treasurer Judy R. Glass introduced the video, which focused on the division’s ministry activities and accomplishments during the past three years.

Erton C. Köhler Elected as General Conference President

Erton C. Köhler was elected to the office of the president of the General Conference (GC) on July 4, 2025, during the 62nd GC Session in St. Louis, Missouri. Köhler’s election marks the beginning of his first term as the spiritual and administrative leader of a worldwide movement that spans more than 200 countries and includes more than 23 million members.

Lives Changed Through Listening

Back when I was operating a college radio station, a caller said he appreciated the music and message on the radio station one particular evening. He went on to describe how he had been contemplating suicide, even coming to the point of deciding to end his life—that evening. But just before doing so, something grabbed his attention. As he listened to the radio, the power of the music and the message spoke to his heart and altered his decision. He called the radio station to tell me about it. That was a life-changing experience for me.

Adventist Community Services Assists Those Affected by Colorado Wildfires

The Adventist Community Service (ACS) team from the Rocky Mountain Conference has set up a distribution center in Denver, Colorado, to assist residents affected by the recent Colorado Marshall fire. The 6,000-acre wildfire damaged or destroyed 1,270 homes and businesses and is considered the most destructive fire in Colorado history, with estimates on damage exceeding a half-billion dollars.

After a One-Year Hiatus, North American Division Hosts Third Religious Freedom Prayer Breakfast

On Jan. 13, 2022, more than 40 people from diverse faith traditions gathered for the third Religious Freedom Prayer Breakfast hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America (NAD). The event recognized Jan. 16 as National Religious Freedom Day in the U.S., and included prayer for elected officials, the community, the nation, global health and healing, for peace, religious freedom, and for unity of spirit.

Southern Students Receive Film Award at Windrider Summit During Sundance Film Festival

Three senior animation majors in the School of Visual Art and Design at Southern Adventist University received the Windrider Best Undergraduate Student Film Award during the Windrider Summit & the Sundance Film Festival Experience 2022. The Windrider Summit, which was held virtually this year, is an official partner of the Sundance Institute.
