Our mission

To enhance, support and coordinate with the existing Native Ministries, both denominationally operated and supporting ministries, that exist throughout the NAD.

How we serve

Fundraising
Bringing awareness to the NAD of the challenges of reaching the Native peoples of our territory
Producing resources for reaching native peoples or promoting existing materials that have been produced by entities already engaged in this work
Coordinating efforts of the many ministries engaged in Native Ministries

American Indian Living Radio is a weekly health radio program that is available for free to American Indian radio stations. It is currently on National Public Radio and NV1 and Konic Native Networks. This program features Dr. David DeRose, Weimar physician, author and speaker. The program is mentioned as “the best health radio program in Indian country” by many tribal leaders. Groundbreaking for Collaborative Reserve Building in Alberta Advances Truth and Reconciliation

A groundbreaking held in Maskwacis, Alberta, Canada, on Oct. 20, 2023, for a multipurpose building to be constructed by the Alberta Conference heralded a dream come true for the Indigenous Adventists and community leaders who live there. Located on a rare parcel of private land in a reserve long-known in Indigenous circles for courage and innovation, the future center of influence, Mamawi Atosketan Centre (MAC), is being seen by the community and church officials at all levels as a clear path forward in working with Indigenous peoples.

MANS Welding Students Create Commissioned Sculpture for City of Lacombe

Tessa Potts, who graduated from MANS in June 2020, and Eileen Firingstoney, currently a grade 11 student, spent approximately 150 hours with their welding teacher, MANS high school vice-principal Mike Willing, to create the sculpture "Miweyihtowin." Firingstoney and Potts donated a significant part of their earnings to help cover MANS’ COVID-19-related expenses.

Navajos Take to the Airwaves

Kyle Boyd senses that God has given him a special opportunity to reach out to his fellow Navajo tribal members, whose territory straddles three states: Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. “Our people are desperately searching for hope,” he said. Recently Boyd was able to realize his dream of sharing God’s message in a very special way — through a radio broadcast.

Maintaining Hope During Distance Learning, Planting ‘Seeds for Life’ for Citizens of the Navajo Nation

The Navajo people have been disproportionality affected by the deadly coronavirus since the first case was confirmed on the tribal land on March 17, 2020. Navajo Nation has the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 per capita in the United States. The principal of the Adventist boarding school that provides a safe haven for its Navajo students, and the native ministries director for the Pacific Union Conference share their realities of serving the marginalized nation within a nation, especially during the coronavirus public health crisis.

Young Adult LIFE Tour Coming to Portland, Oregon

Many of our local churches love their young adults but are at a loss as to where to begin a thriving ministry with them. The North Pacific Union Young Adult LIFE Tour stop intends to bring insights and relevant, doable steps toward building a flourishing young adult ministry now. The tour’s next stop will be in Portland, Oregon, from April 19-20, 2024, at the Pleasant Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
