In heaven we will eat fruit from the Tree of Life. It will always bear. 3. In heaven nothing will die. 4. In heaven we will know our friends and family and we will be together forever. 5. In heaven we will meet with Jesus every day and see Him face to face. 6. In heaven we will be able to fly. 7. In heaven the animals won't be afraid of us or hurt us. Make a cover for the book and staple it together. Share it with the rest of the church family. GETTING INTO SCRIPTURE - MEMORY VERSE MANSION MIX-UP Materials needed: Plain white paper (enough to make 12 mansions) Ink pens Bibles Small slips of paper (12 pieces) WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) Draw 12 mansions and cut them out. They need to be big enough for a memory verse word to be written on the front. On the 12 slips of paper write the numbers 1 - 12, one number to a slip. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Tell the children we need to find out who lives on mansion row. Give each child a mansion and a marker. Have them open their bibles to John 14:3. Each child draws a slip of paper from your hand. The number on the paper tells them which word of the verse they are to print on their mansion. (ALL CHILDREN MUST USE THE NIV VERSION OF THE BIBLE) They then write their name on the back of the mansion. If your class is small, children can do more than one mansion, but they write the name of a family member or friend who is not in the class on the back of the other mansions. Their name can only be written on one mansion. When the mansions all have a memory verse word written on them, mix them up. Have the children work together to put them in the correct order so the verse can be read. Make sure they do not comment on whether it's their mansion or not. When the verse is in the correct order, turn the mansions over and see who is living next to whom. ACTING ON SCRIPTURE - MEMORY VERSE RELAY Materials needed: Bibles WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) There are no advance preparations necessary. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Have the children look up their memory verse in their bible and read it together with you. Form a vertical line at the back of the room. Place one child at the opposite end of the room. When you say go, (give them 1 minute on the clock) the child at the opposite end runs to the first child in line and repeats the verse. He then takes him by the hand and runs back to where he came from at the opposite side of the room from the group. The new child he has brought over runs back to the group in the vertical line, repeats the memory verse, takes them by the hand and brings him over to the opposite side. This continues as each child who is brought over runs back to fetch another child. The activity is over when all the children are on the opposite side of the room from where they started. (Except the child who was by himself from the beginning.)
