==================================================== Title: Primary Sabbath School Program, June 17, 2000 From: NAD Children's Ministries (author: Lisa Seeders) Date: May 1, 2000 Abstract: Activities to use in place of program helps to teach the lesson, JESUS CAME BACK TO LIFE ==================================================== Lesson Aim: Jesus' resurrection means that I can live with Him forever. Memory Verse: "Christ has indeed been raised from the dead." I Cor. 15:20, NIV GETTING THEIR ATTENTION - BELATED EASTER EGG HUNT Materials needed: 1 dozen eggs Food coloring Vinegar Water Basket WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) Hard boil the eggs. Dye them with the food coloring, vinegar and water in bowls. After they are dry, write one word of the memory verse on each egg near the smaller end around the top. Include I Corinthians on an egg, chapter 15 on an egg and verse 20 on an egg. You should have a total of eleven eggs. Cut the top of the egg carton off and cut the egg container in half lengthwise so you can line up the eggs in a straight line across a table. Set the basket at the front of the room. Before Sabbath School hide the eleven eggs in the room. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Remind the children about the Easter holiday that was celebrated two months ago. What was the reason for celebrating Easter? Have them look for the eggs and bring them back to the basket. Then have them unscramble them and place the words in correct order in the egg container holders. The memory verse will remind them of the true reason for celebrating Easter. Before drawing have the paper turned so that it is in the shape of a diamond (kite) with one corner being the top and one corner being the bottom of the picture. Color it so it is attractive. Keep it very simple, something the children can copy easily. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Give each child their square of card stock paper, a pencil, some colors and a tongue depressor. Have them draw a picture of the resurrection similar to your sample. (The picture needs to take up most of the square) After coloring the picture, have them fold them diagonally.
