Solomon WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: If you have a large group you may need to split them up into smaller groups and duplicate your group cards. Pass out all the cards face down as you would a deck. Ask the children to pick up their cards and look at them. They each have a turn choosing someone to ask their dream question to. The child asked guesses the name of the dreamer. If they don't know, they can ask you, the teacher, or another child for help. If they answer correctly, the card is laid face up on the table and the turn proceeds to the next child. If they answer incorrectly, the child retains his card and can ask someone else on his next turn. Continue in this manner until all the cards are used. In the Bible story today someone had a dream. GO STRAIGHT INTO THE BIBLE STORY. GETTING INTO SCRIPTURE- FALLEN STATUE Materials needed: Statue pieces for each child (Xeroxed from Bible story book or quarterly) Grey construction paper Scissors WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) Copy a picture for each child of the great statue in King Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Be sure to color in the different sections so they appear as the materials each Kingdom represented. Cut the sections apart. Cut out a stone from grey construction paper for each child. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Give each child the statue pieces and stone before you tell the Bible story. As you come to each explanation of the segments of the statue have them put the statue together and then knock it apart with the stone at the end of the story. GETTING INTO SCRIPTURE- MIRRORED MEMORY VERSE Materials needed: Paper for each child Mirrors for each child (if you don't have access to small ones bring a large one in to share) WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) You may wish to print part of the memory verse onto the paper backwards and let them only fill in words or you may wish to let them do the whole verse depending on the writing ability of your Primaries. Be sure to print it backwards so that when you look at it in the mirror you can read it correctly. Print an example of the verse on a blackboard or newsprint pad for them to copy. WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Ask them to look at the blackboard and read the verse to you. Don't bring out the mirrors yet. Ask them what's wrong with it. Bring out a large mirror and set it 90 degrees to the top of the board. Can they read it now? What was revealed? Now have them try to write their own by copying what they see on the blackboard or by trying it on their own. Give them small mirrors if possible to check their work. ACTING ON SCRIPTURE- LETTERS FROM GOD Material needed: A copy of the letter for each child Envelope for each child with their name and address on it and a drawn in stamp WHAT THE TEACHER DOES: (To prepare ahead) Copy the letter below adding the child's name and something that Jesus has told us will happen. Ex. Wars, Floods, Famine, Sunday law, etc. Put the letter in the envelope with their name and address on it. Dear______________, I love you. I have told others about what will happen before I come. One thing that will happen is________________. Love, Jesus WHAT THE STUDENTS DO: Give each child their letter. Have them each take a turn reading their "letter from Jesus". Talk about the different things Jesus has told us will happen to our world.
